Research Partners
In its research activities, Marazzi has always worked to develop
synergetic relationships with major partners in various sectors,
so that the Group can always rely on cutting-edge technology and
expertise. The R&D department also collaborates on process development
projects with leading manufacturers of technological innovation.
Universities
The laboratory is also closely connected to Italian and international
research centres and universities. This is particularly true for
the University of Modena and Reggio, where Marazzi oversaw the creation
of research and chemical analysis lab named after Pietro Marazzi.
Styling, colours, and trends are all studied by the R&D department,
which works with architectural firms, universities, polytechnic
institutes, and research institutes.
Designer
As part of its business strategy, Marazzi has always believed that
cutting-edge technology should be rounded out by cutting-edge stylistic
innovation and highly skilled personnel.
Over the years, Marazzi became the first company in its sector to
collaborate with great names in design and architecture, from Giò
Ponti to Nino Caruso, and with leading fashion designers such as
Biki, Forquet, and Paco Rabanne.
In the late '80s the "Crogiolo" has been created, a place
for ceramists and designers from around the world to come together
and pool their knowledge and skills.
These collaborative projects led to the life-size ceramic reproductions
of Amleto Dalla Costa's "Donne", Roger Capron's one-of-a-kind
pieces, and Setzuko Nagasawa's raku.
