Quarries

In its own production cycle, the Marazzi Group uses natural materials that come from specific excavations in authorized areas. Mining operations involve modifications to areas that are often uncultivated, but whose terrain and natural elements are affected in ways visible from the outside.
The industrial management of quarrying activities is carried out in full agreement with local authorities; Marazzi works with them to establish how the areas are to be reclaimed after "exploitation", undertaking responsibility for special environmental needs as well.

For other materials used in the production cycle, preference is given to materials that come from areas excavated in full compliance with environmental standards. One example is the feldspar that comes from the Eglece- Dersi and Telici quarries in Nilas-Aydin, Turkey, where extraction operations are also ISO 14001-certified.
